| Hooters Fort Myers Beach Offshore Grand Prix May 18 - 20, 2001 Flowmaster wins first place in the Super Cat Light Outboard Class!
Flowmaster wins again! The Hooters Fort Myers Beach Offshore Grand Prix was held in Fort Myers Beach Florida on May 18th thru 20th. The boats were on display at the Gulf Breeze RV Resort which provided an excellent dry pits area. The race was held in the rather calm Gulf of Mexico. This was the third race of the 2001 schedule. Flowmaster easily beat No Limits (previously Payback) and newcomer Snakeman, a 36' Skater with triple outboards. Freeze Frame Video outfitted the boat again with an onboard camera. Hopefully some of the footage will make it to Speedvision and TNN! Thankfully there were no serious injuries at the race but we did find out that it IS possible to flip a Bat Boat. We hope to continue our winning streak at Saraota next month. We'd like to thank our sponsor The Mucky Duck Restaurant in Fort Myers Beach for their great food, service and support. Mark Campbell and his staff were wonderful and the food was even better. We enjoyed dinner, drinks and conversations there Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Mike was impressed and anyone that knows Mike's food tastes knows this says a lot. If you're ever near Fort Myers Beach, try the Mucky Duck Restaurant at 2500 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach, 941-463-5519. Leslie highly recommends their Rum Runners! Todd enjoyed riding around the pits on his newest toy, a beautiful custom supercharged motorcycle! After the race on Sunday, we celebrated at the Awards Party at the Bridge Restaurant then had dinner once again at The Mucky Duck with our friends from Zipp Express (a Super Cat Light Inboard boat) who placed 2nd in their class. Todd and Mike would like to thank their crew for this race, Leslie Fox-Anderson, Perry and Charlotte Rohland and Erik Taber.
